Hardware Acceleration of ROS 2 DDS Security Profiles

Engineering hardware security modules to authenticate nodes, encrypt topics, and enforce access control in ROS 2 robotics systems.

Securing the ROS 2 Computational Graph

By default, standard ROS 2 nodes communicate over unencrypted, unauthenticated DDS multicast channels, allowing rogue devices on factory Wi-Fi to publish malicious velocity commands. RobotHSM implements SROS2 security plugins directly inside hardware silicon, authenticating every node and encrypting sensitive topics with AES-256-GCM.

Hardware Access Control Governance

RobotHSM parses signed SROS2 governance XML files, enforcing strict cryptographic access control lists (ACLs) that prevent compromised perception nodes from issuing motor or manipulator commands.
